The checkerboard marks transparency — those areas are empty in the file. Only PNG and SVG carry transparency; JPG fills empty pixels with a solid colour.
Mark — no background
Nothing behind it. Whatever you place it on shows through. The square-canvas version suits favicons and avatars; the tight crop suits free placement.
The mark's pale teal bar reads faint on white; it was coloured to sit inside the dark container.
Full logo — boxed
Mark inside its dark container, black wordmark. For light backgrounds.
